With the loss of their capital, ID cards and other important papers, they will have to restart. A micro loan to finance a good business idea may be the order of the day.
Amid the numerous tent camps, Haitians have already resorted to selling their merchandise to make money to feed their family members. Here is a good opportunity for micro loan companies and Aid groups to think about empowering Haitian men and women. It will be interesting to start pilot programs with women who have their own small business. They are more likely to repay.
